I’ve always liked working with clients multiple times. It’s not that I want to take all your money. There are specific reasons why it benefits a client to work with me more than once. Here they are in no particular order…

You learn to trust me.

This might not seem like a big deal for you (the client), but for the photographer it’s a huge deal and it makes us better at what we do! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worked with someone who has tried to tell me how to do my job. Now, if you’re a photographer and you hire me, I will absolutely listen to your ideas about anything! Location, shooting angle, lighting, etc. But if you’re someone who knows nothing about photography and you want to reschedule because it’s overcast, I’m secretly laughing inside. In my opinion, overcast days make for the best portraits. If you’re worried about the background so much that we have to drive an hour to sit in front of some flowers that you won’t even see in the photos, I’m going to feel way less inspired. Honestly, it all boils down to inspiration. When you trust me, I get creative and inspired. That means better creative images for you! So sit back, relax, and let me do my job. 🙂

I learn what you like and don’t like about photos of yourself.

Whether we want to admit it or not, we all have things that aren’t our favorites when we see ourselves in photos. Sometimes when I see a photo of myself, all I see is a double chin. When I had bangs, I hated when they would split in the middle. If I can see rolls anywhere, I’m definitely not gonna like the photo. On the other hand, I like when I can see the color of my eyes in a photo. When I work with you more than once, I learn all the things that make you smile at a photo of yourself. It’s so much easier than telling someone new every time you shoot, isn’t it?

I get genuine expressions and reactions out of you.

Maybe it’s just me, but it takes me a little while to warm up to people. I don’t go full force Trisha immediately. It’s kind of like testing the waters… you stick your toes in and make sure it’s the right temp. When you first shoot with me, you’re not going to be 100% yourself. You’ll be scrutinizing me, not just as a photographer, but as a person! It’s going to take you a little while to warm up and show me that real smile. By the end of our first shoot, you’ll be warm. But by the second time we shoot, you’ll be on fire!

You are more confident in front of the camera.

You know how confident you are when you take selfies? Have you ever been that confident in front of a real photographer? No? Then you haven’t worked with the same person enough! A good connection with your photographer should have you doing all the selfie poses in the world without a thought about it! I need that confidence to show up immediately, but I understand it’s tough to do that the very first time we meet.

You gain a new friend.

Pretty much every friend I’ve gained in Houston has come by way of photography. I’m easy to get along with and I love to make people see themselves in the best light. So, come on! Book a session and let’s be friends! (Sidenote: you don’t have to book a session to be my friend. HA!)

To give you a visual aid, here are some photos from a recent shoot with my friend, Nadia. We’ve been working together for two years! She totally smashes it every time we shoot…
